Harassment Prevention Office

The Government of Yukon is committed to maintaining a work environment free of harassment, and in which all employees are treated with dignity and respect.

As part of this commitment, the Government of Yukon has a policy to prevent harassment and deal with complaints. It describes what harassment is, and outlines methods for solving complaints.

The Workplace Harassment Policy 3.47 (  PDF 34 KB)applies to all individuals employed under the Education Act and the Public Service Act, including deputy ministers, casuals and contract employees.

The Harassment Prevention Office (HPO) has staff available to provide information and training to employees on harassment and to assist in resolving complaints, including investigation of complaints.

The HPO staff are committed to providing services in a strictly confidential, neutral and objective manner to all employees who seek their assistance.

Harassment Prevention

  • Present general workshop for employees and for managers and supervisors
  • Custom-plan workshops to suit specific needs
  • Provide consultative services to Human Resource staff, line managers, or employees

Harassment Response

  • Provide advice on informal resolution of harassment issues
  • Provide investigations when Article 6 Grievance, Article 39 Grievance or Policy 3.47 complaint is filed
