Corporate Health and Safety Services

The Health Safety and Wellness unit of the Public Service Commission coordinates health, safety and wellness programming for the Government of Yukon including accident prevention and disability management.

The purpose of the Health Safety and Wellness unit is to assist Yukon Government managers, supervisors and employees in promoting a safe and health workplace.

Consultants provide services including assisting departments to develop health and safety plans, providing corporate courses on health, safety and wellness topics, ergonomic assessments, developing skills to perform workplace inspections and safety audits. The unit performs occupational health research, indoor air quality evaluations as well as training on other Occupational Health and Safety obligations.

The unit works as a liaison with the Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health and Safety Board (YWCHSB).
