Flu and Work - Quick Reminders

flu1. If you are sick, stay at home and rest. Call 811 if you have questons about symptoms or treatment and do not return to work until you have been without symptoms for at least 24 hours.

2.  If you are a supervisor and employees show flu-like symptoms in the workplace, send them home. You have an obligation to keep the workplace healthy.

3.  If you are concerned about exposure to flu-like symptoms at work, do a risk assessment of your worksite. Make sure all staff know what’s involved and how they can help maintain a healthy workplace.

4.  As a supervisor, be flexible in assessing operational requirements when employees raise their needs to care for sick dependents or family members.

5.  If in doubt as to which human resource rules apply, consult your department human resource director.
