Leadership development involves developing people as leaders.  Leaders facilitate setting direction, creating alignment between changes in direction and the organization’s people and programs, and maintaining commitment in groups of people who will share in the work.  Leadership is a behaviour(s) that create that direction, alignment and commitment.

Contemporary research tells us that leadership development is about creating rich developmental experiences where people can learn, practice and apply new behaviour.  The strategy behind creating the space and the opportunity for leadership learning focuses on providing government employees with a series of learning options.  Each link represents an option to build and share leadership wisdom throughout the organization.
