Pay/Salary Information

Employees are paid in accordance with the annual, bi-weekly and/or hourly rates of pay for the classification of the position to which they are appointed.

Teachers, Educational assistants and Aboriginal Language Instructors are paid in accordance with their qualifications and years of teaching experience.

Rates of pay are detailed in the pay grids on this page.


Pay Administration Cut-offs
  • Employees are paid bi-weekly with pay-days being alternate Wednesdays.
  • If you have been employed in an indeterminate, term or seasonal position, you will receive pay for all regular hours worked up to and including pay-day.
  • If you have been employed as a casual or on call, you will be aid paid two weeks in arrears.


  • Teachers, Educational assistants and Aboriginal Language Instructors are paid on the first pay-day in September.
  • All permanent employees shall be paid the balance of their salary, less one pay cheque on the last pay-day which falls within the school year.
  • The final pay cheque less any necessary deductions shall be paid on the following scheduled pay-day.


In order for any changes to be made to your pay, the information must be received by your Human Resource unit and forwarded to Employee Compensation, Public Service Commission by 5:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of each pay week.


Time sheets must be completed and forwarded to Payroll, Department of Finance no later than Thursday of each pay week.


If an earlier cut-off is imposed due to a statutory holiday, this will change the cut-off for employees, departments and Employee Compensation.
