The Training and Work Experience Program is an opportunity for persons with disabilities to train on-the-job in the Yukon government. Placements are in a range of job categories in government departments. An individualized training plan is developed for each trainee. The plan is based on a combination of experience or skill development needs, and the requirements of the job. Each Training and Work Experience Program placement lasts a minimum of six months.

Auxiliary-on-call Program

The Auxiliary-on-Call (AOC) Program provides people to fill in for employees, in many areas of government, who are away from their jobs for various periods of time. The AOC Program meets short-term, immediate needs of departments for administrative support staff. Candidates “pre-certify” in specific job classifications before positions become available.

WDEO Disability Services AOCs are employees of the Public Service Commission and departments reimburse the commission for their salaries.
