There are various paid and unpaid leave options available to employees.  The main leave types are listed here. A brief description of the main leave types is provided below, please refer to the policy for a complete listing of leave types.

Leave types are defined by Policy 3.13 of the General Administration Manual (GAM) (volume 3) (40 KB), the policy also includes eligibility and processes to access leave.  Policy 3.13 applies to employees covered by the Public Service Act and Education Act.

Employees should refer to the applicable collective agreement policy or policy governing terms and conditions of employment for their leave eligibilities and specific classes of employees.
