Public Service Commissioner

Under Yukon’s Public Service Act, the Public Service Commissioner has the power to develop, maintain, administer and supervise the public service of the Government of Yukon and to delegate these responsibilities to departments.

Those duties that remain with the Commission include managing the processes on:

  • recruitment
  • classification of positions
  • employee compensation
  • human resource policy
  • staff relations (including negotiating collective agreements)
  • human resource data
  • harassment prevention
  • employee health and safety
  • workforce diversity
  • training and development of employees
